A large upper level high will continue to dominate our weather through at least the early part of next week. That will keep rain chances out of the forecast while pushing temperatures in the Brazos Valley to the century mark or higher. To top it off, afternoon heat index readings will soar as high as 110 degrees. It will be very important to follow heat safety precautions like drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks to cool off. Remember the outdoor pets, too. Make sure they have shade and fresh water.
