Previous Story:

Reed Arena is opening up as a warming center Tuesday until noon Thursday, officials told KAGS.

The warming center will be open starting at 4 p.m. for people in the community who do not have power and seek shelter from the cold.

The public should keep in mind that limited amenities are available, officials said. There are no cots, food or beverages, but there will be bathrooms and seating available.

People are encouraged to bring their own blankets, food and beverages, but are asked to not bring pets.

Due to the pandemic, the public is also encouraged to bring face masks to wear inside and maintain physical distancing.

Officials ask the public to park in either lot 102 or 100 and enter through the main entrance of Reed Arena.

They also urge those who seek shelter to arrive before 9 p.m. due to freezing rain conditions expected Tuesday night.
