Temperatures will continue to warm though the weekend with highs climbing into the mid to upper 80s on both Saturday and Sunday. A trough to our west will help draw in the warm and moist airmass into the Brazos Valley. This moist airmass will help set the stage for strong to severe storms from Sunday through Monday for parts of the South. Severe storms will begin in Oklahoma & northern Texas on Sunday and gradually shift into the Brazos Valley by overnight Sunday into early Monday before transitioning farther east by Monday afternoon.

Temperatures behind the storms will fall into the 70s for highs with lows in the 40s & 50s for the majority of next week. A stronger cold front will move in overnight Thursday, which will keep highs in the 60s!

An update on the tropics: Tropical Storm Nestor developed this afternoon in the north-central Gulf of Mexico. Nestor has sustained winds of 60mph and is moving NE at 22mph (away from the Brazos Valley). Nestor is forecast to make landfall Saturday morning in the Florida Panhandle. Tropical Storm Warnings are in place for that region.
