Tracking several weather systems that will bring changes to the Brazos Valley

Active weather pattern for the Brazos Valley over the next several days.

BRYAN, Texas — Quite the day across the Brazos Valley as a warm front has created different season across the area depending on where you're located. The southern zone is in the 70s, the central zone is in the 60s while the northern zone is in the 50s. This warm front will gradually work north late Friday night, which will allow for fog to develop across much of the area overnight Friday. A weak upper-level disturbance will also generate a nice uptick in precipitation for parts of the area. The rain chances will increase for the entire Brazos Valley as a cold front works its way in Saturday morning.

The cold front will create an uptick in northeasterly winds, drop temperatures into the 50s & dry things out as a high pressure builds in behind the front. This high will allow Sunday morning temperatures to fall into the 30s. Areas of frost are possible both Sunday & Monday mornings.

Frost/freeze potential

The high will start to work its way east late Monday. This will flip the winds around to the southeast, increasing moisture. At the same time, a very weak upper-level disturbance will move over the Brazos Valley. The moisture return shouldn't be enough for precipitation but cloud cover will increase late in the day Monday.

Weather setup early week

The weak moisture return continues Tuesday. Another upper-level disturbance will move into Texas late-Tuesday. Enough moisture will be in place for rain chances to increase late-Tuesday through Wednesday. Temperatures will be cold Tuesday night/Wednesday morning but we should remain just warm enough for a cold rain. This will be monitored because if temperatures are a couple degrees colder, there may be a wintry threat. Right now, no wintry precipitation is in the forecast.

Weather setup mid-week

The rain chances will continue into Thursday thanks to another upper-level storm system working its way into the Southwest. This storm system will move into Texas late-Thursday/early-Friday, allowing a surface low to develop somewhere near the upper-Texas coast. There are still a lot of uncertainties with this system so keep checking back for updates as some interesting weather may be in the forecast.
