Warm weekend but active weather week ahead

Saturday morning will start off cold but temperatures will warm well-above average by Sunday. Big changes in the forecast next week.

BRYAN, Texas — A cold front moved through the Brazos Valley Friday. This will set the stage for a chilly morning Saturday. Temperatures will start out in the 30s. The average low is around 40 degrees.

The weekend will be nice as a high & upper-level ridge dominate the weather. This will ensure mostly clear skies and allow temperatures to climb into the mid-to-upper-60s on Saturday with highs climbing into the low-70s on Sunday. Moisture will begin to gradually increase on Sunday as southeasterly wind return to the Brazos Valley as the surface high starts to scoot east.

Weather setup Sunday

A dip in the jet stream early next week will send a cold front south on Monday. This cold front will move into the Brazos Valley late Monday into early Tuesday. It is possible a brief shower may develop along the cold front but the moisture return will be minimal, thus, best rain chances will be to the east of our area. Temperatures will fall behind the cold front into the upper-50s for highs with lows falling back into the 30s.

7-day forecast

It appears a potent storm system will impact the Brazos Valley late next week into the following weekend. This will be something we will keep an eye on over the next several days. At this time, it appears a good uptick in rain chances will occur.
