HUNTSVILLE, Texas — A man working at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice correctional facility in Huntsville was arrested on March 8 for bringing contraband items into the prison.
According to the TDCJ, officer Bryce Jefferson was arrested by investigators with the Office of the Inspector General after an interview at the facility where he admitted to bringing tobacco into the prison. Jefferson surrendered a dozen cans of tobacco from his jacket and uniform pants, but even more cans of smokeless tobacco and wrappings of tobacco were found in his car after he was interviewed by the investigators.
According to Walker County Jail Records, Jefferson has been charged with bribery and having a prohibited substance or item in a correctional facility. His bonds total $22,000.
