Man arrested in College Station double homicide charged with capital murder

After authorities searched for Michael Epperson throughout the evening on June 23 and into the morning the day after, he was caught with the help of Killeen PD.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — A late-night shooting investigation in College Station has ended with a suspect in custody thanks to the assistance of the Killeen Police Department.

After 10 p.m. Thursday night, College Station Police went to investigate a shooting in the 2000 block of Colgate Drive. The suspect, Michael Epperson, 19, was wanted after the shooting investigation turned into a homicide investigation. He reportedly left the victim's home in a 2017 red Nissan Sentra with black rims and a Texas Longhorns sticker on the back window.

Authorities cautioned anyone that spotted Epperson to not approach, as he was considered armed and dangerous. 

Police later confirmed that Epperson was wanted for two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and that there were three victims. Two of the victims would later be pronounced dead--one at the crime scene and another at the hospital--while a third was hit by shots that were fired inside the home where the crime scene took place.

Just after 4 a.m. on Friday, May 24, College Station Police confirmed that Epperson was in custody thanks to the Killeen Police Department, who assisted in locating him. 

The victims were identified on Friday, May 31 by CSPD as Epperson's grandfather, Seferino Aleman, and his brother, Isaac Garcia. The third victim was identified as his uncle, whose name was not revealed.

According to College Station Police, Epperson is currently in the Brazos County Sheriff's Office Detention Center on a $3 million bond for Capital Murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
