ROSENBERG, Texas — A pair of alleged meat thieves were arrested in Rosenberg on Tuesday after they were caught in a stolen vehicle from College Station, the Rosenberg Police Department said on Facebook.
In their post, police said an officer pulled over the stolen vehicle and noticed 18 packages of meat inside the vehicle, which included beef steaks, brisket and pork chitterlings, totaling to $500. Police said they later learned the meat was stolen out of grocery stores in Katy and Houston.
Rosenberg Police also found drugs in the car, police added.
The two men inside the vehicle, 32-year-old Cornileus Davis from Pattison and 31-year-old Robert Stevenson from Brookshire, were arrested and charged.
Davis was charged for unauthorized use of a vehicle, as well as theft. Stevenson was charged with possession of drugs and theft.
“I applaud our officers for their vigilance in stopping this criminal episode. Without the intervention of the officers, more crimes would have likely occurred against citizens and businesses in our area," Police Chief Jonathan White said in the Facebook post.

Back in 2022, a pair of women were arrested for allegedly stealing $2,000 of meat from a Temple H-E-B. They were caught on camera stealing the meat, seen below, police said.
These two cases do not have any relation to each other.
