HUNTSVILLE, Texas — The Huntsville Police Department and Walker County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a string of car burglaries and is seeking the public's assistance.

In a Tuesday morning Facebook post, the agencies "are wanting to meet with them in reference to several vehicle burglaries that occurred in the Sterling Ridge neighborhood located north of Huntsville's city limits."

The photo provided shows a person getting inside a white truck and then fleeing.

The agency's post garnered dozens of comments and shares.

Anyone who recognizes the white truck in the second photo with headlights on, to contact Detective Morris with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office via email at mmorris@co.walker.tx.us or by phone at 936-435-2408.

If you would like to remain anonymous, contact Walker County/ Huntsville Crime Stoppers at 936-294-9494.

These incidents are not new in Walker County. In December, the county's local newspaper, The Huntsville Item, reported several thefts in one month alone — majority of the cars stolen were trucks.
