A&M Consolidated Middle School teacher wins Educational Leadership Award

In addition to the award, the teacher received $5,000.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Humanities Texas has awarded A&M Consolidated Middle School 8th grade U.S. History teacher Caitlin Baumgarten with the Julius Glickman Educational Leadership Award.

This award is given to those who show exceptional leadership in the educational field.

Baumgarten will be presented with the award during a presentation at her school on Nov. 29 at 4:15 p.m.

In addition to the award, Baumgarten will receive $5,000 cash and an additional $1,000 for her school to use on instructional materials.

Humanities Texas says Baumgarten goes beyond creating an engaging classroom environment as she also helps fellow social studies teachers find innovative ways to reach their students in her podcast, History Teachers Club.

“This recognition represents the culmination of my journey towards achieving the goals I had set for myself, inspired by the transformative power of education and the humanities," Baumgarten said.

Each year, Humanities Texas presents statewide awards to recognize and promote the teachers who show true passion in their work and curriculum development.

“Humanities Texas is pleased to recognize the achievements of Caitlin Baumgarten and A&M Consolidated Middle School,” said Humanities Texas Executive Director Eric Lupfer. “Caitlin inspires and motivates her students to succeed in the classroom and beyond.”
