COLLEGE STATION, Texas — A Bryan man is being accused of attacking one of his employees at a job site over a couple of missed phone calls.
Jose Alfredo Garcia, 29, is charged with assault. He was booked into the Brazos County Jail on May 6 and was later released on $4,000 bond.
The assault allegedly happened on March 3, 2020. The victim, who works for a local company based out of Bryan, said he was working a job site in College Station. The victim said he missed two calls from Garcia while working. Garcia is the victim's direct supervisor, the man allegedly told police, and Garcia showed up at the site angry about the missed phone calls.

According to court documents, the victim said he argued with Garcia and that's when Garcia punched him four times in the face, knocking him to the ground. The victim said when he tried to get up, Garcia pushed him down and began choking him. The victim said another worker at the site ran over to help and that's when Garcia allegedly let go of him.
Police said when the victim came to the station to be photographed, the man had injuries to his face, including a swollen cheek, swollen and split. His shirt was also torn and the victim had physical injuries to his elbow and arm.
Garcia told investigators he is the man's supervisor and the worker is always late. According to court documents, Garcia told authorities he showed up at the site that day, but it was the worker who started the attack, not him, and he was defending himself.
Garcia has been released from jail on $4,000 bond.
