Members of City of Bryan downtown parking committee revealed

A diverse cast of members consisting of business owners, executives, and community members will look to solve the issues facing downtown Bryan.

BRYAN, Texas — Editor's Note: The attached video aired on Feb. 16.

Following Mayor Bobby Gutierrez's announcement on Feb. 16 that a committee would be formed to help alleviate issues facing downtown Bryan and the parking in the area, the full list of members of the committee have been announced.

The city says the members were selected "for their diverse backgrounds, experiences and knowledge, which collectively represent all key private sector stakeholder groups in Downtown Bryan" which includes hospitality, events, restaurants, retail, offices and Bryan-College Station residents.

The committee will consist of:

  • Andrew Nelson, committee Chair - Destination Bryan board member and former City of Bryan Mayor
  • Wade Beckman - former BCS Chamber of Commerce President and business owner 
  • Nancy Finney - Chief Revenue Officer at Astin Partners, LLC
  • Peter Lange - Associate Vice President for Transportation for Texas A&M
  • Bryce Pflughaupt - downtown resident
  • David Posadas - business owner
  • Alex Schulman - business owner
  • Kristi Stark - attorney
  • Blake Zeitman - business owner

"I am confident in the Downtown Parking Committee's ability to gather pertinent information, generate fresh insights, and provide short, medium and long-term recommendations for the benefit of our entire community," said Mayor Bobby Gutierrez in a post on the City of Bryan website. "I and the rest of council are giving them space to do their work and have asked for them to publish their findings and recommendations within 6 months."

Once the group's work is ready for community feedback, the data will be published on the City of Bryan website.
