North Zulch mother taken to hospital after accidentally being shot on Sunday

The accidental shooting took place in the afternoon on Sunday, according to the Madison County Sheriff's Office.

NORTH ZULCH, Texas — A 24-year-old mother was involved in an accidental shooting in North Zulch on Sunday, according to the Madison County Sheriff's Office.

That day, around 1:22 p.m. in the 4300 block of Shepherd Hill, a call was made to authorities about a gun accidentally being fired. The Madison County Sheriff's Office says the gun was fired unintentionally by a minor.

The shot fired from the gun hit the minor's 24-year-old mother in the abdominal area, and she was later taken by air to the hospital, where she is currently receiving medical treatment.

Authorities say there are no other details available and that there is no active threat to the community or surrounding areas.
