National Certified Nurses Day

Nurses work long, hard hours to make a difference in the lives of others, and in the Brazos Valley, hundreds have been and are training for just that.

BRYAN, Texas — Declared in honor of Margretta (Gretta) Madden Styles, March 19 marks National Certified Nurses Day. 

The day is made to celebrate those who work long, hard hours, dedicating their lives to helping others. 

Texas A&M's College of Nursing was ranked fourth in a list of the best programs in Texas.

The school has graduated more than 900 bachelor's and master's students since it was founded in 2008. 

Around the country, the Bureau of Labor Statistics listed registered nursing as one of the top occupations for job growth.

Experts expect the workforce to grow from 2.7 million in 2014, to 3.2 million in 2024.
