The library says the event will feature storytellers and activities for the whole family.

TEMPLE, Texas — Can't wait for the April 8 total solar eclipse? The Temple Public Library is hosting an event to help tide you over.

At 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, the library will host "Stories of the Stars" to get Central Texans ready for the rare celestial event.

According to the library, visitors to Stories of the Stars can prepare for the eclipse with a "fun storytelling and activity event for the whole family."

Stories of the Stars will be held in the 3rd floor McLane Room, and is open to all ages.

Admission to the event is free.

Stories of the Stars is part of a lineup of events held by the library ahead of the April eclipse. Other events included an eclipse art show in November, a Star Party at the Temple Airport in January, and will feature the Solar Art in the Park event on March 16.
