Baylor QB Blake Shapen transfers to Mississippi State

Shapen will play for new head coach, Jeff Lebby. The QB1 started 23 games for the Bears, leaving with almost 5,600 passing yards and 36 touchdowns.

WACO, Texas — UPDATE: Blake Shapen has found his next landing spot and is taking his talents to Mississippi State to play for new head coach, Jeff Lebby.

Sawyer Robertson transferred from Starkville to Baylor this past season, and now the two QB's are switching places as Shapen heads to the Bulldogs.

Baylor Quarterback Blake Shapen is set to enter the NCAA transfer portal with at least one year of eligibility remaining, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.

During his time at Baylor, Shapen started in 23 games, he threw for 36 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

This news comes on the heels of Head Coach Dave Aranda's announcement that the Bears will be moving on from Offensive Coordinator Jeff Grimes.

With Shapen leaving, this adds another hole in the Bears football program that will need to be filled during the offseason.
