Texas A&M spring football game kickoff moved up due to forecasted storms

The first public showing of what Texas Aggie football will look like under new head coach Mike Elko is set for April 20.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Mike Elko era at Texas A&M is well underway behind the scenes, with incoming players already showing up on campus to partake in workouts and get acclimated with the new staff and players.

On April 20 at noon, the public will get their first look of how the team will look in the annual Maroon and White spring football game at Kyle Field.

There will be familiar faces from the past season as well as new players donning the A&M maroon and white for the first time.

Those departures needed to be replenished, and Mike Elko has fortunately brought in a suitable transfer portal class--one that was for a short while rated the top portal class in the country--to address roster needs and create competition in position rooms that have returning starters.

However, Elko has also noted that he doesn't want to rely on the portal too heavily for players and wants Texas A&M to be a recruiting-based program that harnesses the talent in the state's fertile recruiting grounds across the state to bring Aggie football to new heights.

Inaction isn't to be feared though, as the A&M football coaches have been busy on the recruiting trail, making visits all across the nation and building connections with high school coaches and highly rated prospects.

The team has also been hard at work with new strength and condition coach Tommy Moffitt, a highly respected name in the coaching world who has pushed the teams he has coached for 26 consecutive years to reach postseason bowl games, among many other accolades and accomplishments.

At halftime the Legends Game featuring past Aggie football stars will also be played. The flag football game will feature nearly 30 former football players and coaches get together, and will have Jake Hubenak as the team's All-Time QB, who will play for both teams.

The rosters include:
