Mexico to take on Canada at AT&T Stadium for 2024 MexTour match

The five cities picked for the 2024 tour marks the largest U.S. tour in the 21-year history of the annual event.

ARLINGTON, Texas — As the 2026 FIFA World Cup nears, five cities in the United States have been chosen to host the biggest Mexican Men’s National Team U.S. Tour in the 21-year history of the annual event known as the “MexTour,” including two matches in Texas.

For the first time ever, the Mexican National Team will play in the 102,000-seat Kyle Stadium in College Station, when the team takes on Brazil on June 8, the final tune-up match to 2024 CONMEBOL Copa America tournament. Then, later this fall, Mexico will play against Canada at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, a venue that El Tri has frequented more than a dozen times since it was built 2009.

“We are thrilled to return with the MexTour to Chicago, Denver, Pasadena and Arlington, where fans - year after year- have embraced the Mexican National Team with remarkable passion,” said SUM Executive Vice President Camilo Durana. “This year, in conjunction with Lone Star Sports & Entertainment and the Houston Dynamo FC, we welcome the opportunity to host soccer for the first time at the renowned and historic 102,000-seat Kyle Field at Texas A&M University, in a match against the Brazilian National Team and its roster of global stars. The match will be a celebration of soccer for the entire state.”

The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM) announced the following dates, cities, and opponents for the 2024 MexTour:

  • Friday, May 31, vs. Bolivia at Soldier Field in Chicago, Ill.
  • Wednesday, June 5, vs. Uruguay at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colo.
  • Saturday, June 8, vs. Brazil at Kyle Field at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas
  • Saturday, September 7 vs. New Zealand at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Calif.
  • Tuesday, September 10 vs. Canada at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas

All four national teams – Mexico, Bolivia, Uruguay, and Brazil – are expected to compete with their top rosters, officials said in a press release.

The Mexican National Team is set to play its 13th match in AT&T Stadium later this month when they play Panama in the Concacaf Nations League semifinal. Their next opponent, either U.S. or Jamaica in the third place match or final (depending on match results) will also be played at AT&T Stadium on March 24, their 14th in the venue.

AT&T Stadium is also one of 14 hosting venues of 2024 Copa America, and there is a pathway for Mexico to play at AT&T Stadium again this summer. If Mexico wins its group in Copa America, they'll be slated to face the second-place finisher in Group A (Argentina, Peru, Chile, TBD) at Jerry World in a quarterfinal match.

Mexico holds a 8-2-2 (win, loss, draw) in Jerry World.
