Over 50 pounds of total marijuana seized in major drug bust by Bryan PD

The street value of the marijuana seized is about $70,000, according to Bryan Police.

BRYAN, Texas — Thousands of dollars of marijuana are off the streets following an arrest by Bryan Police on Thursday.

That day, the Bryan PD Directed Deployment Team was following an investigative lead which they got from a search warrant months prior to the bust. The team conducted a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Berger Drive, and discovered an individual with a pound of marijuana in his possession.

Another officer made contact with an individual in the area while the traffic stop was being conducted, which led them to discover the major stash of marijuana.

In total, 56 pounds of marijuana were seized as well as a gun and two pints of Promethazine. The two men that the officers made contact with were also arrested. The street value of the marijuana is around $70,000, according to Bryan PD.

The two that were arrested, alongside their charges, include:

  • Jakeith Jones
    • Possession of Marijuana in an amount between 50 pounds and 200 pounds in a Drug Free Zone
  • Keeon Kelly
    • Possession of Marijuana in an amount between 50 pounds and 200 pounds in a Drug Free Zone
    • Unlawful Carry of a Weapon
    • Possession of a Dangerous Drug
