HUNTSVILLE, Texas — On October 12, a shooting broke out at the Timbers Apartments in Huntsville after police responded to a call about a suspicious person on the property.
The suspect was killed and Sergeant Kyle Dockery was rushed to the hospital after he suffered several gunshot wounds to multiple areas of his body. Amanda Craig, the Senior Officer for Huntsville PD, said that after he was transported, they received multiple phone calls from the community asking how they could help.
“We’re a medium-sized community but with our community it feels like a small town and people know Sergeant Dockery," said Craig.
From there, they saw that MC Dance knew the Dockery family and posted a Venmo account where people could donate to support the sergeant during his recovery. There, they say the group has received many donations from those in town.
