UPDATE: Bryan police identify victim of fatal car crash

Police say the person was trying to cross the road when they were hit by a car.

BRYAN, Texas — Authorities have identified the person who died after being hit by a car on Boonville Road Sunday night.

Police said Susan Brunson, 34, of Bryan, failed to give the right of way to an SUV that was traveling eastbound on Boonville Road. She was hit by the car and taken to the hospital but died from her injuries.

The driver of the SUV was not hurt and police said they are cooperating with the investigation.

One person is dead after being hit by a car on Boonville Road Sunday night.

The crash happened just after 7:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Boonville Road near Town Square Avenue. Police say a person was walking and attempting to cross the street when they were hit by the car. They died at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released as police are still notifying loved ones of the victim.

The area was closed and traffic was diverted to Town Square Avenue as police investigated the scene of the crash. More details are expected soon. We'll keep you updated.
