Downtown Bryan getting ready for the big screen

The city's First Friday is expected to be holiday dressed as a backdrop for the movie production Rekindling Christmas.

BRYAN, Texas — Those who have been to Downtown Bryan lately may have noticed Christmas is far from over.

The city's First Friday is expected to be holiday dressed as a backdrop for the movie production Rekindling Christmas. The movie is being co-produced by Bryan native, Ashley Martin Atwood, Who also stars in the film.

The movie is being shot in Bryan and the producers said downtown is a great location for several scenes. They need people to come out and help make it great this Friday.

"Probably the smallest amount of filming will take place on First Friday," said Sandy Farris, the executive director of Downtown Bryan Association. "They're just getting what's called b-roll, some background and transitional footage to use throughout the movie. The rest of it will take place in various locations near downtown or in downtown until the end of January."

First Friday starts tomorrow at 5 p.m. in Downtown Bryan.
