In the ranking, programs from the School of Nursing, College of Engineering, Mays Business School, and School of Education and Human Development were highlighted.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — A new report by the U.S. News ranks several online education programs from The University of Texas A&M among the top 10 in the nation.

The three programs ranked among the top 10 include Texas A&M School of Nursing, ranked number seven in the nation and number one in the state of Texas. A&M's School of Education and Human Development ranked number three for their overall master's in veterans program and number eight for their master's in curriculum and instruction. Both of these programs rank number one in Texas.

"As a land-grant institution, our mission is to bring higher education opportunities to those with the passion and determination to succeed. We want to meet students where they are, and for some, that means earning a degree through an online education," said General (Ret.) Mark A Welsh III, president of Texas A&M University. "The latest rankings recognize the efforts of faculty and staff responsible for these online programs, as well as our students, some of whom may never step foot on campus until commencement, but they are Aggies nonetheless."

Nine other online degree programs from Texas A&M also ranked in the top 20 in the nation. Including five programs from the College of Engineering, two from the Mays Business School, two from the School of Education and Human Development, and one from the School of Nursing. Most of these programs also ranked number one in Texas with four coming in as the second highest ranked in Texas.

According to their website, US News uses several methodologies for the rankings taking into account. Factors include engagement, service and technologies, faculty credentials and training, and peer assessment.
