BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas — TxDOT has updated a previous announcement regarding traffic shifts that were scheduled to take place on FM 2818 Southbound starting on Wednesday, March 1.
The work will be postponed, according to TxDOT. A new date for the road work has not been revealed.
The traffic shift was originally stated to be a small portion of Southbound traffic between Holleman Drive and Wellborn Road, according to the release.
Once the traffic switch has been completed, TxDOT has said that only the inside lane will be able to continue south on FM 2818, while the outside lane will have to exit to Wellborn Road.
The lane change will be in effect for approximately four months, according to TxDOT. Furthermore, TxDOT says the operation is part of a larger project to address congestion along FM 2818 and convert the road to a "Super Street" design.
